Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to join their Richards Bay operation. You will optimize and scale up chemical and manufacturing processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality while translating laboratory discoveries into robust industrial processes.

The role requires leading process development efforts, collaborating with R&D, engineering and production teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in a major industrial hub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process development or chemical engineering.
• Proven track record in scaling up chemical processes from laboratory to industrial scale.
• Strong knowledge of process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus) and statistical analysis tools.
• Experience with HAZOP studies and process safety management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for pilot-scale and full-scale manufacturing.
• Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, and risk assessments for new and existing processes.
