Placements24 is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join their chemical manufacturing division in Cape Town. You will optimize and troubleshoot processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across scale-up from lab to production.

Collaborating with R&D, production, and maintenance, you will drive process improvements, validate new equipment, and support operator training to sustain quality and reliability in a dynamic coastal city.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 4 years of process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass transfer.
• Experience with safety standards and environmental regulations.

About the Role

You will work closely with research and development, production, and maintenance teams to scale up new processes, improve existing ones, and resolve operational challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize chemical manufacturing processes to improve yield, efficiency, and safety.

• Monitor process parameters, analyze data, and troubleshoot operational issues to ensure consistent product quality.
• Develop and execute validation protocols for new equipment and process changes in Cape Town .
• Collaborate with R&D to scale up laboratory processes to pilot and full production scale.
• Provide technical support to the production team, assisting with operator training and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass transfer principles.
• Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus) and process control systems .
• Familiarity with safety standards and environmental regulations relevant to chemical production.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
