About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team in Benoni , operating under a hybrid work model. You will lead key development projects, leveraging your deep technical expertise to translate laboratory discoveries into robust, commercially viable manufacturing solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and scale-up of new chemical processes from bench-scale to pilot and commercial production.
• Design and execute experimental plans, including DOE, to optimize process parameters for yield, purity, and efficiency.
• Perform thorough process hazard analyses and develop mitigation strategies to ensure safe operations.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, process documentation, and validation protocols for new processes.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and researchers involved in process development.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in chemical process development and scale-up.
• Strong background in reaction engineering, separation processes, and process control.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus) and statistical analysis tools.
• Proven experience in conducting HAZOP studies and implementing process safety measures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
