About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to drive innovation and efficiency in their manufacturing operations based in East London . This role focuses on taking new chemical processes from the laboratory stage through pilot testing to full-scale commercialization. You will be instrumental in defining process parameters, optimizing equipment design, and ensuring smooth technology transfer. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in scaling up chemical processes and a passion for bringing novel technologies to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and scale-up of new chemical processes from bench scale to pilot and commercial production.
• Design and execute experiments to define operating envelopes, identify critical process parameters, and optimize performance.
• Specify and select process equipment for pilot and manufacturing scale operations.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer.
• Develop detailed process descriptions, P&IDs, and operating procedures for new processes.
• Conduct process safety reviews and risk assessments for new developments.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process development, scale-up, and technology transfer.
• Proven track record in successfully commercializing new chemical processes.
• Strong understanding of reaction engineering, separation processes, and process control.
• Experience with process simulation and modeling tools.
