Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Chemical Engineer to optimise existing chemical processes and develop new ones at its Midrand base. You will lead design, simulations, feasibility studies, and economic evaluations while mentoring junior engineers.

You will ensure safe, compliant operations and collaborate across R&D, operations, and maintenance teams to transfer technology and commission plants. A hybrid work model supports collaboration and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process design and optimization within the chemical industry.
• Proven expertise in process control, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) and CAD tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with track record of managing complex projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with diverse teams.
