Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer for Centurion, Gauteng. You will lead strategic design and analysis of large-scale power systems for national and international infrastructure projects, including grid integration and protection schemes.
The role requires a Master's or PhD in Electrical Power Systems Engineering, 10–15 years of experience, Pr. Eng registration, and proven leadership.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Power Systems Engineering.
- A minimum of 10–15 years of extensive experience in power system planning, design and analysis.
- Experience leading complex power system projects and managing technical teams.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of large-scale power systems, including grid integration and studies.
- Develop strategic technical plans and roadmaps for power system infrastructure development.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Oversee protection schemes, earthing systems, and fault analysis for HV networks.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to present findings and secure approvals.
- Model and simulate systems using PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD.
