Placements24 is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer in Pretoria to lead the design of large-scale solar and wind energy systems. You will develop high-level architectures, perform grid studies, and guide teams from concept through commissioning.

The role requires a Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems or Renewable Energy, 10+ years in electrical engineering, and at least 5 years in renewables.

Qualifikationen

• Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems or Renewable Energy.

Aufgaben

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and engineering of large-scale renewable energy systems (solar PV, wind).
• Develop high-level electrical system architectures, single-line diagrams, and key performance specifications.
• Conduct advanced power system studies, including grid interconnection analysis, stability studies, and protection coordination.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering innovation and best practices.
• Evaluate new technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution from design through to commissioning.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to present technical solutions and address complex engineering challenges.
• Ensure all designs meet rigorous national and international standards and regulatory requirements relevant to Pretoria and South Africa.
