Placements24 is seeking a Senior PR and Communications Officer for our Bloemfontein-based nonprofit client. The role focuses on elevating public awareness, shaping brand messaging, and engaging diverse stakeholders in the Free State.

You will lead strategic communications and storytelling efforts to highlight impact and drive support. The ideal candidate has 4–5 years in PR/communications, strong media relations skills, and a passion for community development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in public relations, communications, or a similar role, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Proven experience in media relations and securing positive media coverage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling and content creation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive PR and communication strategies to support the organization's goals and mission.
• Manage media relations, including pitching stories, writing press releases, and coordinating interviews.
• Create engaging content for various platforms, such as websites, social media, newsletters, and annual reports.
