Job summary

Placements24, a client in the Energy sector, seeks a Lead Power Systems Analyst in Randburg, Gauteng. You will lead a team of analysts, conduct complex power system studies, develop models, and provide strategic insights to support grid planning, operations, and the integration of new energy technologies.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of power system dynamics, fault analysis, and load forecasting, plus strong leadership and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Master's degree is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in power system analysis, grid planning, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct comprehensive power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, transient stability, voltage stability).
• Develop and validate power system models using industry-standard software.
• Analyze impact of renewable energy integration and grid modernization initiatives on performance.
• Provide expert recommendations for grid expansion and upgrades.
• Mentor junior power system analysts and collaborate with operations and planning teams.
