Job summary

Cape Union Mart Group is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst – Point of Sale to analyse, design, document, support, and continuously improve our POS platforms across omnichannel channels. Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years’ experience in systems analysis, business analysis, application support, systems integration, or solution delivery.
• Experience with Point of Sale, store trading, retail operations, payments, promotions, customer, loyalty, or transactional retail systems.
• Experience with omnichannel retail processes such as click-and-collect, pick-from-store, online returns in store, order handling, fulfilment, inventory availability, or customer order management would be advantageous.
• Experience supporting business-critical production systems, including incidents, releases, change management, and operational support processes.
• Experience analysing APIs, middleware, databases, integrations, batch processes, and cloud-based platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements, processes, system behaviours, and integration impacts across POS and omnichannel sales.
• Translate business needs into functional specs, technical specs, user stories, flow diagrams, interface requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Support solution design for store trading, sales, returns, promotions, loyalty, gift cards, end-of-day processing, and omnichannel capabilities.
• Document inbound/outbound integration processes for POS systems.
• Validate cross-channel transaction and order lifecycles including sales, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, vendors, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and support delivery.
• Support testing, releases, upgrades, and change requests through structured analysis and documentation.
• Assist with incident, problem, and service request resolution by analyzing data flows, logs, and failures.
• Contribute to system stability via monitoring, knowledge docs, and operational readiness activities.
• Coordinate testing activities: UAT, regression, transactions, and production validation.
• Participate in Agile delivery: backlog refinement, sprints, reviews, and governance forums.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless customer and operational experiences across channels.
• Support vendor engagement by clarifying requirements and tracking open items during release coordination.
• Identify opportunities to simplify store trading processes and reduce operational risk.
