Placements24 seeks a Senior Plant Pathologist to join a fully remote, global team focused on diagnosing and managing plant diseases affecting major crops. You will analyze outbreaks, develop control strategies, and provide expert guidance to agricultural operations worldwide.

The ideal candidate has a PhD in plant pathology or related field, 8+ years post-doctoral experience, and strong molecular diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Plant Pathology or related biological science field.
• Minimum of 8 years post-doctoral experience in plant pathology research and diagnostics.
• Experience diagnosing diseases across diverse crops.
• Proficiency in molecular techniques (PCR, sequencing).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with publications track record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose plant diseases via macroscopic, microscopic, and molecular data.
• Investigate disease epidemiology and outbreak drivers.
• Propose and assess disease management strategies (cultural, biological, chemical).
• Lead and support research trials for fungicides and other agents.
• Collaborate with global teams and provide expert consultation.
