Placements24 is seeking a remote Plant Pathologist to contribute to its advanced agricultural research division, diagnosing and managing plant diseases across crops using remote diagnostics, digital imaging, and client data. You will work remotely, collaborating with field agronomists, researchers and growers to protect crop health and inform disease control strategies, advancing sustainable farming practices.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Plant Pathology or closely related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience diagnosing and managing plant diseases.
• Expertise in fungal, bacterial, viral and nematode diseases across major crops.
• Proficiency with digital microscopy, image analysis software and data management systems.
• Strong research and publication track record; excellent remote communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose plant diseases from remote digital images, samples, and field data.
• Develop integrated pest and disease management strategies for various crops.
• Review literature to stay updated on emerging plant diseases and treatments.
• Provide remote expert consultation to field teams and clients.
• Analyze disease patterns and contribute to predictive modeling.
• Document findings, recommendations and research outcomes meticulously.
