Job summary

Montana Recruitment is seeking a Senior Plant Electrician in Germiston to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical systems in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. You will service HV/LV switchgear, transformers, substations, and main distribution panels, and diagnose CNC machinery and PLC fault conditions.

The role requires strong experience with Fanuc, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley PLCs, with a focus on instrumentation calibration and interpreting electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years as a maintenance electrician in a heavy industrial plant.
• Proven experience with CNC machine tools and automated manufacturing systems.
• Direct experience working around high-voltage equipment and gas furnaces.
• PLC diagnostics and industrial networks (Profibus, Ethernet/IP).

Responsibilities

Job description

Senior Plant Electrician- Preferably female. Germiston. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs complex electrical systems within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Maintain, test, and repair high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) switchgear. Service electrical transformers, substations, and main distribution panels. Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), primarily Fanuc, Siemens and Allen-Bradley. Diagnose faults in CNC machinery, servo drives, and precision encoders. Calibrate instrumentation loops, sensors, transmitters, and control valves. Interpret and modify electrical schematics. Maintain electrical systems on heavy forging presses and manipulators. Service gas-fired heat treatment furnaces, burners, and ignition systems. Troubleshoot. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years as a maintenance electrician in a heavy industrial plant.
