Placements24 in Cape Town is seeking a seasoned Senior Electrician specializing in industrial applications to join our operations team. You will oversee installation, maintenance and repair of complex electrical systems in industrial facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience, expertise in high‑voltage systems, PLCs and VFDs, and a Master Electrician certification.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician with a minimum of 8 years in the field.
Strong understanding of high-voltage systems, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation.
Valid Master Electrician certification or equivalent qualification.
Proficiency in interpreting electrical diagrams and technical specifications.
Excellent knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in an industrial environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead tasks and provide technical guidance to a team.

Responsibilities

Install, inspect, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, and lighting.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and techniques.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Ensure all work complies with national and local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize risks of failure and downtime.
Oversee and guide junior electricians on projects, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
