Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the ability to adapt and remediate the curriculum to address learners’ needs and subject weaknesses.
• Knowledge of SIAS procedures and completion of relevant documentation and ISPs.
• Proven track record of effective curriculum delivery and good parent communication.
• Effective classroom management and positive disciplinary strategies.
• Willingness to work beyond school hours when required.
• ICT literacy, with the ability to integrate technology into teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach English and Creative Arts in the Senior Phase.

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and communicate with parents.
• Contribute to the Resource Centre Team and school programmes.
• Demonstrate effective classroom management and related strategies.

Minimum Requirements and Key Criteria

• A four-year teaching qualification with English as a major subject.
• SACE registered.
• Experience teaching English in Grades 7–9.
• Ability to teach Creative Arts in the Senior Phase.
• Experience in inclusive education, supporting learners with specific learning difficulties, ASD and challenging behaviour.
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the ability to adapt and remediate the curriculum to address learners’ needs and subject weaknesses.

• Proven track record of effective curriculum delivery and good parent communication.

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Willingness to participate in school, co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes and contribute to the Resource Centre Team.
• A valid First Aid certificate and PDP will be advantageous.
