Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Production Manager to lead the manufacturing operations in Tembisa, SA. You will oversee end-to-end production, ensure GMP compliance, manage a production team, and drive continuous improvement in a complex facility.

The role requires 7+ years in pharma manufacturing with 3+ years in leadership, strong planning and lean skills, and the ability to collaborate with QA, Supply Chain, and Engineering to deliver high-quality products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Master's or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Extensive GMP knowledge, regulatory guidelines, and production technologies.
• Proven leadership with teams and driving operational excellence.
• Strong production planning, process optimization, and lean principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of pharmaceutical production, including planning, scheduling, and execution to meet production targets.
• Ensure GMP and all health, safety, and environmental regulations compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the production team for performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Implement and manage process improvements to boost efficiency and quality.
• Oversee budget management for the production department.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Engineering for seamless operations.
