Job summary

SA Metal Group in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to manage payroll for 1,650+ employees, ensuring accurate processing, timely payments and compliant deductions. The role supports the Payroll Manager and the Human Capital function.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years’ payroll experience, matric and a payroll qualification, strong Excel skills and familiarity with Time & Attendance systems. A demanding, fast-paced environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent.
• Payroll Diploma or qualification.
• 5+ years of experience processing payroll for a large organization (>1000 employees).
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) including Excel, email, and report compiling.
• Experience with Time & Attendance software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process the SA Metal payroll for ~1650+ employees accurately.
• Ensure timesheets are processed and deadlines met.
• Calculate overtime and leave payments.
• Process statutory deductions (PAYE, UIF, WCA, etc.).
• Maintain payroll records in line with statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with Human Capital on remuneration matters.
