Job summary

SABS in Pretoria is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead the payroll function, ensure accurate processing, and drive compliance with South African labour laws and tax regulations.

You will manage monthly salary payments, year-end processes, and reporting, while developing a centre of excellence and mentoring the Payroll Officer. A relevant finance or HR qualification and SAP/HR Payroll experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or advanced diploma/ B-degree in Finance, HR, or related field (NQF7).
• SAPA member (preferred).
• Payroll training certification will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the strategic plan for payroll aligned with the organisational strategy.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely delivery of salaries.
• Ensure data accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and tax regulations.
• Produce payroll reports and insights to support decision-making.
• Provide training and development for the Payroll Officer and drive process improvements.
