Placements24 is seeking a Senior Pastry Chef in Centurion, Gauteng to lead the pastry division. You will design and execute high-quality pastries, mentor junior staff, and drive menu innovation while upholding top quality and safety standards.

The role requires a minimum of 6 years in pastry with 3+ in a supervisory capacity, a formal pastry or culinary qualification, and a passion for pastry excellence. Centurion-based, with weekend/holiday hours as needed.

Qualifications

• 6+ years pastry experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior role.
• Formal culinary or pastry arts degree/diploma from a recognized institution.
• Expertise in classic and contemporary pastry techniques including chocolate work, sugar artistry, and bread making.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and execute a wide range of high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods.
• Develop new and innovative pastry concepts and seasonal menus.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the pastry section, including production planning and scheduling.
• Oversee and train junior pastry cooks and bakers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all pastry items.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
