You will oversee menu development, team leadership, costing and waste management, ensure food safety, and collaborate with the Executive Chef to elevate pastry offerings while maintaining top-quality presentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of pastry arts experience with at least 3 years in a Head Pastry Chef or leadership role.
• Proven expertise in fine dining pastry and complex cake design/decoration.
• Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary pastry techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication and team management skills.
• Proficiency in managing kitchen operations including costing, inventory and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute innovative pastry menus for fine dining, events and bespoke cake orders.
• Lead, train, and mentor the pastry team, fostering creativity, precision and excellence.
• Manage pastry kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, costing and waste management.
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to integrate pastry offerings seamlessly.
• Maintain exceptional presentation and artistry for all pastry creations.
• Source high-quality ingredients and build relationships with suppliers.
• Conduct regular quality checks and taste panels for pastry items.
• Manage the pastry department budget and contribute to profitability.
• Stay updated on global pastry trends and techniques.
