Placements24 presents an opportunity at a renowned culinary institution in Centurion, Gauteng, seeking a Head Pastry Chef to lead the pastry department and craft an exquisite range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods.

You will oversee menu innovation, quality control, and staff training, manage inventory and costs, and mentor a team of bakers in a busy kitchen environment, while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in pastry arts with supervisory experience.
• Formal culinary or pastry diploma/certificate essential.
• Expertise across viennoiserie, chocolatier & sugar work.
• Strong leadership and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all pastry kitchen operations.
• Develop innovative pastry products including desserts, cakes, bread and chocolates.
• Design and update pastry menus seasonally to ensure variety and appeal.
• Supervise, train and motivate the pastry team; maintain high standards of quality.
• Manage pastry inventory, ordering, receiving and stock rotation.
• Control pastry costs and ensure regulatory compliance in health and safety.
