Job summary

Scholtz Partners International in Bloemfontein seeks a Senior Packaging Technician to lead and improve packaging processes within our milling operations. You will oversee both automated and manual packaging systems, ensure safe and compliant packaging, and guide junior staff while coordinating with production, QA, and engineering teams.

The role requires 5+ years of maintenance experience and hands-on machine fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

National Senior Certificate or equivalent (NQF 4).
Minimum 5 years technical maintenance experience.
Valid driver’s license and own transport.
MS Office proficiency.
Experience with automated packaging machinery (advantageous).
Electrical or Maintenance Diploma (advantageous).

Responsibilities

Conduct daily inspections on automated and manual packaging equipment.
Perform fault-finding and breakdown repairs.
Ensure machines operate at optimal efficiency.
Monitor stock levels and order parts when needed.
Attend to after-hours breakdowns.
Coordinate packaging technicians and maintain packaging machinery.
Oversee and improve packaging processes within production environment.
Ensure products packaged efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards.
Set up and maintain packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot packaging issues.
Train junior staff.
Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams.
Optimize packaging performance and reduce waste.
