Job summary

Grey Human Capital is seeking a Packaging Supervisor for a Wellington, South Africa site. The role focuses on leading the packaging team, maximizing line efficiency in filling, labeling and shipping, and upholding quality and safety standards across operations.

You will implement QC protocols, manage stock, ensure ISO/QMS compliance, and mentor staff while fostering collaboration. Ideal candidates have at least 5 years in packaging supervision and a matric or equivalent, with technical knowledge

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in packaging supervision or a similar role.
• Matric or equivalent.
• Technical knowledge of packaging processes, batch sheets, labelling requirements, and manufacturing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee packaging line activities to maximise filling, labeling and shipping efficiency.
• Implement and monitor QC protocols with regular inspections to maintain standards.
• Manage packaging stock and consumables for optimal resource use.
• Maintain brand image and packaging standards consistently.
• Foster clear communication and teamwork; work independently when needed.
• Ensure OHS compliance, safe procedures, PPE use and incident reporting.
• Complete all QMS/ISO actions for the packaging area.

Duties

• Oversee packaging line activities, ensuring optimal efficiency in filling, labelling, and shipping processes

• Implement and monitor quality control protocols, conducting regular inspections to maintain standards

• Manage packaging stock and consumables efficiently, ensuring resource optimisation

• Uphold the company's brand image and values through consistent packaging standards

• Foster open communication and collaboration within the team, while working independently when required

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, including safe work procedures, proper use of protective equipment and incident reporting

• Complete all Quality Management System (QMS) / ISO related actions for the packaging area

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in packaging supervision or a similar role
