Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Operations Manager to lead the efficient and safe operation of a key Power Plant facility in Upington. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring optimal performance, compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and effective management of operational staff. You will play a crucial role in maintaining energy production targets and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the plant. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the power plant , ensuring maximum efficiency, reliability, and safety.

• Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in power plant operations, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex operational environments and teams in the energy industry.
• In-depth knowledge of power generation processes, equipment, and operational best practices.
• Strong understanding of safety management systems, environmental regulations, and quality control.
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, decision-making, and communication skills.
