About the Role

Our client, a prominent national logistics provider, is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Operations Lead to manage their key facility in East London, Eastern Cape . This role is instrumental in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of warehousing and distribution services, meeting client demands and company performance standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and supply chain management, with proven leadership experience. This is a demanding, on-site role requiring hands-on management and strategic oversight to drive operational excellence, optimize resource utilization, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for the performance and development of the operational team and the facility's overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse and distribution center, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
• Manage and mentor the operational team, including supervisors and frontline staff, fostering a culture of productivity and safety.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Manage inventory control, order fulfillment, and dispatch processes effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics and operations management, preferably within a distribution or warehousing environment.
• Proven experience in managing operational teams and driving performance improvements.
• Strong understanding of warehousing, inventory management, and transportation logistics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant operational software.
• Ability to manage operational challenges and make sound decisions under pressure.
