Placements24 is seeking a Senior Warehouse Operations Manager for our client’s Cape Town facility. You will lead end-to-end warehouse activities, drive efficiency, safety, and high performance in a large team, and shape the operational strategy for the regional distribution centre.

The role requires 7–10 years in warehouse management with 3–5 years in senior leadership, expertise in WMS and ERP, and a strong track record in Lean improvement and budget delivery within the South African logistics

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize warehouse operations, ensuring alignment with company goals.

• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and suppliers as needed.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technologies to drive operational performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide training, and support the professional development of warehouse staff.

Requirements

• A Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in warehouse management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large, complex warehouse operations and significant teams.
• In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and supply chain technologies.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development and management.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven track record of implementing successful process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
• Expertise in health and safety management within a warehouse environment.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs in the Cape Town area.
