Placements24 seeks a Principal Mining Engineer to lead open pit mining operations in Mahikeng, North West. You will plan and optimize production, mentor engineers, and implement advanced mining technologies to improve safety and costs.

The role requires a strong focus on feasibility studies, risk assessments, and coordinating with geology, maintenance and operations for performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years in open pit mining with 5+ years in senior roles.
• Proven experience in mine planning software and safety/regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop short- and long-term open pit mine plans and production schedules.
• Oversee all open pit mining operations ensuring safety and compliance.
• Lead and mentor mining engineers, supervisors and staff.
