Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with a focus on Infrastructure Security to join our IT operations team in Soweto. You will design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability against evolving cyber threats.

Lead security initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and stay current with emerging threats while delivering high-availability network services for the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in network engineering with security focus.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and switching.
• Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP Security preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Implement and manage network security measures against threats.
• Monitor network performance and resolve issues proactively.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
• Plan upgrades and maintenance; mentor junior engineers.
• Provide technical leadership and stay current with threats.
