Job summary

SkyeBiz in Stellenbosch, South Africa is seeking an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to join our Security Operations and Engineering team. You will own the design, implementation and continuous improvement of secure network environments, act as the technical authority on network security, and mentor more junior specialists.

The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, VPN and Zero Trust architectures, IDS/IPS and network monitoring, and a strong grasp

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in network security engineering, incl. 2+ years in senior/lead role.
• Hands-on with enterprise firewalls, VPNs and IDS/IPS in multi-site environments.
• Strong TCP/IP, DNS, BGP/OSPF and network protocol knowledge.
• Experience designing network security architectures and incident response.
• Automation/scripting for network/security tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage enterprise firewall platforms with high availability.
• Define network security posture and governance across environments.
• Lead incident response for network security events.
• Develop and enforce secure remote access and Zero Trust controls.
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers and contribute to roadmaps.
• Collaborate with SOC, infrastructure, cloud teams.
