Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field is required.
• Master’s degree or MBA is advantageous for the role.
• Proven track record in managing large teams and budgets in surface mining.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all aspects of daily surface mining operations, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize productivity, resource utilization, and cost control.
• Oversee the maintenance and effective use of mining equipment fleet.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and operational staff.
• Manage the mine planning and scheduling processes in coordination with relevant departments.
• Control operational budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations team.
• Liaise with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors, and the community.
