Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational plans to meet production targets safely and efficiently.
• Conduct site inspections and audits for safety and environmental compliance.
• Lead and mentor a team of mining engineers, geologists, and staff.
• Analyze production data to identify optimization, cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with procurement and maintenance to ensure resource availability and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive operational plans to meet production targets safely and efficiently.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Supervise and mentor a team of mining engineers, geologists, and operational staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Analyze production data to identify areas for optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
• Collaborate with procurement and maintenance departments to ensure adequate resource availability and equipment reliability.
• Prepare detailed operational reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and strategic recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mine operations, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
• In-depth knowledge of underground mining techniques , equipment, and safety protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in mine planning software.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
