Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Plant Manager to lead a mineral processing facility in East London. You will oversee production, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance, driving efficiency, profitability, and continuous improvement.

You will manage engineers, technicians, and operators to achieve targets and foster a strong safety culture. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, 10+ years in mineral processing with 3+ in management, and a proven ability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Metallurgical/Chemical/Mechanical or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mineral processing plant operations, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Proven track record in optimizing plant performance, managing costs, and ensuring safety.
• Strong understanding of mineral processing technologies and equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize plant performance and resource utilization.
• Manage the maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing plant operations team.
• Manage plant budgets, capital expenditure, and resource allocation effectively.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the plant.
• Collaborate with other departments, including supply chain, technical services, and sales.
