Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mineral Processing Engineer to join a mining and minerals processing team in Paarl, Western Cape. You will optimize grinding, flotation, and dewatering circuits to maximize recovery while minimizing environmental impact.

The role requires a BSc/BEng in mineral processing or related fields and at least 7 years of progressive experience. You will mentor junior staff, develop control strategies, and contribute to new processing technologies in a dynamic site

About the Role Our client, a prominent mining and minerals processing company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Mineral Processing Engineer to join their technical team in Paarl, Western Cape . This role is integral to optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of their mineral processing plants, ensuring maximum recovery of valuable commodities while minimizing environmental impact. The successful candidate will apply their deep understanding of mineral processing principles to diagnose operational issues, implement process improvements, and contribute to the development of new processing technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure stable and efficient plant operation.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• BSc/BEng in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mineral processing operations and technical support.
• Strong understanding of the principles and practices of comminution, solid-liquid separation, and flotation.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet) is advantageous.
• Proven experience in process optimization and troubleshooting in a plant environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
• Experience with base metals or precious metals processing is a plus.
• A proactive and results-oriented approach to work.
