Job summary

Valterra Platinum Limited is hiring a Shaft Ventilation Engineer at Mototolo Mine to oversee ventilation and occupational hygiene, ensuring a safe, compliant workplace. The role integrates technical leadership, governance, and safety culture to reduce risk and incidents.

The position requires extensive ventilation experience, MHSA familiarity, and the ability to develop and implement training programs while coordinating with multiple teams on short- and long-term plans.

Qualifications

• Post-qualification experience in mine ventilation within a mining environment.
• Experience as acting or appointed MHSA section 12.1 appointee is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene systems across safety and compliance.
• Provide specialist ventilation and hygiene services to operational areas to ensure a safe work environment.
• Lead safety culture and ensure risk-controlled outputs from all employees and contractors.
• Ensure MHSA compliance through audits, monitoring, and reporting.
• Develop training and best practices for ventilation and hygiene.
