Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mine Surveyor in East London, Eastern Cape, ZA to enhance survey and spatial data management. You will oversee high-precision surveys across exploration, development, and operations, using total stations, GPS/GNSS, laser scanners, and drones.

Lead and mentor survey teams while integrating data with geological and mine planning software. The role requires 5–7 years of mine surveying, professional registration, and strong geodetic knowledge.

Qualifications

• Requires National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying/Geomatics.
• Professional registration with a surveying body (e.g., PLATO).
• 5-7 years of mine surveying experience, preferably East London area.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, Trimble Business Center, Surpac.
• Experience with 3D laser scanning, drone surveying and GIS.
• Solid understanding of geodetic principles and coordinate systems.
• Strong data processing, analysis, and visualization skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsabilités

• Conduct high-precision surveys for exploration, mine development, and operations.
• Operate and maintain total stations, GPS/GNSS, laser scanners, and drones.
• Process survey data to create digital models and maps.
• Integrate survey data with geological and mine planning software.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of survey data and reports.
• Develop and implement survey standards and procedures.
• Supervise and mentor junior surveyors and technicians.
• Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and operations for spatial information.
• Perform regular quality control on survey work.
