Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our client's facility in Midrand. The role requires leading a large team, optimizing production, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a mining engineering or related degree, 8+ years in mine operations with 3+ years in a management role, and a proven track record in cost control and performance delivery across diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mine Management, or related field.
• 8+ years in mine operations with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Experience leading large diverse teams and ensuring safety.
• Strong knowledge of South African mining regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize mine production and resource utilization.
• Manage and supervise all mine site personnel, including geologists, engineers, and operations staff.
• Oversee safe and efficient operation of mining equipment and machinery with adherence to maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with national and international health, safety, and environmental regulations governing mining operations.
• Monitor costs, identify improvements, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or quality.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
