Job summary

Placements24 in Soweto seeks a Mine Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team responsible for servicing heavy mining equipment, ensuring reliability and optimal performance of the fleet. Qualifications

• Trade qualification e.g., Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory maintenance experience, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of heavy mining equipment ( excavators, haul trucks, drills, crushers ).
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and maintenance management software.
• Excellent leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental best practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of mechanics and technicians for heavy equipment maintenance.
• Develop, implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on heavy mining equipment.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs, manage parts inventory and supplier relationships.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and analyze equipment performance data.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Provide training and mentorship to maintenance staff.
