Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mine Geologist for a major mining operation based in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will lead geological assessments, supervise drilling programs, and build 3D models to support near-mine and greenfield exploration, resource estimation, and mine planning.

The role requires 8+ years of post‑graduate experience in mineral exploration geology, strong logging, modeling skills (Leapfrog/Vulcan), and the ability to work hands-on in an on-site mining environment while

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology or a related geoscience field.
• 8+ years in mineral exploration geology with underground or mine-site experience.
• Proficiency in geological modeling and resource estimation.
• Experience with Leapfrog, Vulcan or similar software.
• Strong analytical and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping and structural analysis of exploration areas.
• Log diamond and RC drill core, identifying lithology, alteration, and mineralization.
• Develop and refine 3D geological models using Leapfrog, Vulcan, or similar software.
• Estimate mineral resources and reserves per JORC or SAMREC codes.
• Plan and supervise drilling programs, ensuring objectives are met.
