Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in mechanical design and systems engineering with a focus on automation and robotics.
• Proficient with CAD/CAE tools: SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA; CAE tools like ANSYS and Adams.
• Strong knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and mechatronics.
• Experience with high‑precision mechanisms, servo systems, and industrial robots.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver innovative technical solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Leadership and teamwork abilities; familiarity with Northern Cape automation landscape is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for robotic and automation applications.
• Perform detailed mechanical analyses, including stress, motion, and thermal analysis using simulation tools.
• Create 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using CAD software.
• Collaborate with electrical, control systems, and software teams for integration.
• Specify materials, actuators, sensors, and components for automation systems.
• Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation of mechanical designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues during design and implementation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and product performance.
• Stay updated on robotics, automation, and mechanical engineering advancements.
