Placements24 in South Africa seeks a proactive Project Engineer (Mechanical) to lead and execute mechanical engineering projects in Tembisa, from conception to completion. This role requires strong technical and leadership capabilities to drive cross-functional collaboration and ensure delivery within scope and budget.

You will plan, coordinate, and oversee design, procurement, budgeting, and safety compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high‑quality results.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of proven project management experience in an engineering context.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial processes, and fabrication techniques.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans with timelines, resources and budgets.
• Oversee design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies for successful completion.
