Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Mechanical) to lead end-to-end engineering projects in Centurion. You will drive planning, design, execution, and close-out, coordinating with design teams, technicians, and external vendors to meet client requirements.

The role requires a BEng or BTech in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years in project engineering or management within mechanical contexts. Hybrid work arrangements and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Requires a BEng or BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or project management within a mechanical context.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Experience in the automotive or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for mechanical engineering projects, from planning and design to execution and close-out.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress against these targets.
• Coordinate with design engineers, technicians, and external vendors to ensure project requirements are met.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving technical and logistical challenges as they arise.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
• Prepare regular project status reports for senior management and clients.
