Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Foreman to lead on-site installation and maintenance for industrial projects in Mahikeng, North West. You will supervise a team of mechanical fitters and artisans, interpret drawings, and ensure quality and safety on site.

The role requires at least 5 years in mechanical installation and maintenance, with 2 years in a supervisory foreman role. We offer a competitive salary and opportunities for growth within a dynamic industrial contractor.

Qualifications

Must have a trade qualification in mechanical fitting or millwright.
Experience supervising mechanical teams on site.
Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct a team of mechanical fitters and artisans.
Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Oversee the installation, assembly, and testing of mechanical equipment and systems.
Ensure all mechanical work is performed safely and in compliance with standards.
Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed installations.
Manage the allocation of tasks, tools, and materials to the mechanical team.
Identify and resolve mechanical issues on site.
Ensure accurate reporting of work, time, and materials used.
Collaborate with other site supervisors and project managers for coordination.
Promote a strong safety culture on site.
