Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Mechanical Fitter in heavy industry.
• Trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
• Proven ability to assemble, dismantle and repair complex mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain heavy industrial machinery and equipment according to specifications and blueprints.
• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical systems including gearboxes, engines, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Perform precise repairs and replacements of worn components ensuring quality standards.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals to guide work.
• Conduct alignment, balancing and lubrication to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Use hand and power tools and specialized measuring/testing equipment.
• Follow safety regulations, site procedures, and environmental policies.
• Maintain logs of maintenance and repair activities.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff and apprentices to resolve issues.
