About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join their industrial operations in Rustenburg . Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining and repairing a variety of mechanical systems, preventing breakdowns, and supporting continuous production. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of mechanical equipment, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.
• Fit, assemble, and install new mechanical components and machinery according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults, developing and implementing effective repair solutions.
• Utilize precision tools and equipment for maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
• Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment condition reports.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices in the workplace.

Requirements

• Qualified Artisan (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Millwright) with relevant trade test certification.
• Proven experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, preferably within a mining or heavy industry environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and power transmission.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
• Commitment to workplace safety and ability to work effectively within a team in Rustenburg .
