Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a globally distributed team working fully remotely. You will lead the design, development and implementation of complex mechanical systems, mentor engineers, and drive innovation while collaborating across disciplines in a virtual environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years of design experience, strong CAD and simulation skills, and a proven track record in remote, distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of comprehensive mechanical design and product development experience.
• Expertise with CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation (FEA/CFD).
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and DFM/ DFA.
• Proven leadership and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of sophisticated mechanical systems and components.
• Conduct advanced analyses (FEA and thermal) to validate and optimize designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a virtual setting to meet project requirements.
• Develop and maintain design documentation including specs, drawings and BOMs.
• Oversee prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in remote work.
