Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to oversee the mechanical upkeep and efficiency of facilities in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies, troubleshoot equipment failures, and lead a team of maintenance technicians.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in industrial maintenance, strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CMMS, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plant machinery.
• Experience with CMMS software.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities for mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all mechanical equipment and plant machinery.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical failures, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Oversee a team of maintenance technicians, providing technical guidance and performance management.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
• Implement improvements to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to maintenance activities.
