Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Kimberley, Northern Cape, to lead the design and integration of advanced material handling systems, including conveyors and AS/RS. The role combines in-office collaboration with remote work, enabling a flexible hybrid schedule.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in mechanical design, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/Inventor), and experience with simulations (ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink). You will mentor peers and drive safety-focused engineering.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design for material handling or automation.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical power transmission, kinematics, and dynamics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration in hybrid teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead mechanical design of material handling systems including conveyors, sorters, and AS/RS.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Perform stress, fatigue, and kinematic simulations to ensure performance and safety.
• Collaborate with electrical/software/controls teams for integrated systems.
• Create testing protocols and drive design improvements based on results.
• Maintain BOMs and engineering documentation for manufacturing.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote design best practices.
