Placements24 in Gauteng is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead the design, development and integration of advanced automotive systems in Tembisa. You will lead a team of engineers to deliver high-performance powertrain, chassis and body modules on complex projects.

The role requires a Master's in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years in automotive engineering, plus proven leadership, CAD/CAE expertise (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, FEA/CFD) and experience with APQP/PPAP processes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years in automotive mechanical engineering.
• Experience leading teams and managing complex projects.
• CAD/CAE skills: Siemens NX, SolidWorks, FEA, CFD.
• Knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes and chassis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers in automotive system design.
• Oversee lifecycle from concept to production launch and support.
• Develop solutions for powertrain, chassis, suspension and dynamics.
• Perform rigorous testing and analyze results to guide design.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing and QA to ensure product success.
