Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer for our Randburg, Gauteng client. You will design complex mechanical systems and assemblies, create detailed CAD models, and perform engineering analyses to ensure performance and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, lead design reviews, and mentor junior designers while maintaining rigorous documentation and BOMs. A strong background in CAD and manufacturing processes is required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6-8 years in mechanical design or engineering in product development or manufacturing.
• Expert in at least one major 3D CAD package (SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).
• Strong grasp of statics, dynamics, thermodynamics and materials science.
• Experience with FEA and CFD software.
• Ability to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines.

Aufgaben

• Design complex mechanical systems and assemblies using advanced CAD software.
• Create detailed 2D/3D models, drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
• Perform stress, thermal and fluid analyses to verify designs.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers for integrated solutions.
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior designers.
• Maintain BOMs and design documentation; oversee prototypes and testing.
