Placements24, Ltd. invites a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a global remote team focused on next-generation agricultural equipment.

You will lead end-to-end design, develop robust mechanical systems, and collaborate with engineers, PMs, and manufacturing specialists from a home office in South Africa. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of experience in heavy machinery or agricultural equipment, with strong CAD and FEA skills (SolidWorks, ANSYS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in mechanical design, preferably heavy machinery or agricultural equipment.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and FEA tools such as ANSYS.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of mechanical components and systems for agricultural machinery.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies and drawings.
• Perform FEA and simulations to validate performance and durability.
• Conduct root cause analysis on design issues and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with remote cross-functional teams.
• Ensure designs meet safety standards, regulations, and cost targets.
• Manage project tasks, timelines, and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve design processes.
• Stay updated on advances in mechanical design and agricultural engineering.
